Digital Banking Center Demo Day

USB to Giveaway $5 Bills at Digital Banking Center “Demo Day”

Union State Bank has completed the expansion of their banking kiosk capabilities in several of their Kansas markets. To celebrate, the bank will be hosting a “Demo Day” on Friday, July 12th in Ark City and Winfield. USB staff will provide customers with a five-dollar bill and hands-on guidance to try the new deposit taking ATM functionality.

“This event is designed to ensure a smooth transition and familiarize customers with the ATM's features, emphasizing the bank's commitment to excellent service and customer support,” explained Brad Bryant, Arkansas City Market President for Union State Bank.

The new deposit taking ATMs, as well as the demo day activities are located at 121 W. 9th in Winfield and the corner of Kansas Avenue and Summit Street in Arkansas City. The Winfield location is completing a multi-week remodel into USB’s first digital banking center.

“We have seen a shift in consumer demand for 24-7 access to banking services and we are able to leverage technology at an already busy location to provide a solution to that demand,” said Cory Helmer, Union State Bank’s Market President for Winfield and Udall. “Traditional banking, while still important, is not the only option that consumers want, and this transformation will provide that option.”

Other modifications to the Winfield location included changes to the drive-thru lanes and the deposit drop-off area.

“We have improved the access to the branch by providing wider lanes to accommodate larger vehicles.  The existing ATM remains as a cash dispensing option for customers, but now has a wider approach lane.  The current night drop will be converted to a “Drop and Go” option for customers and will be checked by staff regularly throughout the day,” Helmer said.

Bryant is happy to see the Ark City location receive an upgrade.

“The Ark City location is our highest usage machine, and the added functionality expands the convenience for our customers. By providing round-the-clock deposit services, the deposit taking ATM minimizes the need for in-person visits, saving customers valuable time and effort,” said Bryant. “All traditional services remain available to serve our customers, but this adds additional options to meet their needs.

Both locations will have staff available from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on July 12th providing customers with five dollars to deposit into their Union State Bank account. Drinks and giveaways will be available during this time as well. In addition, the Winfield Chamber of Commerce is scheduled to host a ribbon cutting ceremony for the 9th Street Digital Banking Center at 10:00 a.m. that morning.

“It is exciting to be able to bring new technology options for consumer banking to the market,” said Helmer. “I think that customers will adapt well in utilizing the 24-7 access and convenience that the new center will provide.”
