Round Up

Save every time you use your Union State Bank debit card. Once enrolled, each transaction will “round up” to the nearest whole dollar amount, transferring the difference to your designated USB deposit account.

"Round Up" is available to all personal checking accounts. Business Accounts and Club/Association Accounts are not eligible.

Upon your enrollment in the Debit Card Round-Up Program, each business day (Monday-Friday excluding Federal Holidays), Union State Bank (Bank) will round up your debit card purchase transactions (“Debit Card Purchase(s)”) to the nearest whole dollar amount (up to $ .99) and transfer the amount in excess of the purchase amount(s) from your checking account to a designated deposit account at the end of the business day.

For example: Complete a purchase for $1.72 with your USB debit card. Once the transaction posts and clears your checking account, the purchase amount automatically “rounds up” to $2.00 and transfers $0.28 into your designated USB deposit account at the end of the business day. Some restrictions apply. See representative for details.

Debit card transactions are rounded up and counted toward the transfer once they post and clear the account (transactions in pending status are not). The cents calculated for each debit card transaction are added up to one total aggregated amount for transfer. It is possible for this total aggregated amount to be greater than $ .99. You can track all your round-ups through Online Banking and/or on your monthly statement.

If there are multiple debit cards associated with your checking account with Debit Card Round-Up, debit transactions will be rounded up for all card transacting on the account.

In addition, Debit Card Round-Up will not cease if your debit card is replaced, including if you get a different debit card number.

  • There are some situations where a transaction will not "Round Up". Examples include, but are not limited to the following:

    • If on a business day you do not have sufficient funds available in your checking account, or if any Debit Card Purchase has overdrawn your account, any of the daily round-up transfers for that day will be cancelled.

As a user of Debit Card Round-Up, you are responsible for calculating and accounting for the amount of the daily debits set to transfer out of your checking as agreed by you signing the Debit Card Round-Up Enrollment form. The daily transfer of debits will reduce the balance in your checking account available for use for other transactions.

    • If your Debit Card Purchase(s) is subsequently cancelled or reversed (such as a return purchase), the corresponding daily round-up transfer will remain in the designated account.

    • Debit card credits to your account will not be rounded up and/or debited from the designated account.

    • ATM transactions will not be rounded up.
