Eric Kurtz, President and CEO of Union State Bank (“USB”), announced that Juan Hernandez has joined the Wichita market as Senior Vice President / Commercial Lending.
“I was looking to be challenged, to be part of a team that was all pulling towards a common goal, and the opportunity to impact the leadership of an organization,” said Hernandez. “I am very excited about the opportunities and the people here.”
Having spent the previous decade specializing in commercial lending, Hernandez will assist USB’s business customers with both commercial deposit and loan needs.
"We are excited to have Juan as part of Union State Bank,” said David Harris, Kansas Regional President for Union State Bank. “His experience in commercial lending within the Wichita area makes him a great addition to our team.”
Hernandez is actively involved within Wichita. Professionally he is a member of the Wichita Independent Business Association, Wichita Area Builders Association, Wichita Manufactures Association, and will soon be joining Rotary International.
“Juan has a passion for wanting to meet the customers’ needs,” said Harris. “This will be a significant benefit for USB as we seek to expand upon our commercial lending footprint within the Wichita metro.”
As a second-generation banker, Hernandez earned a degree in International Business. This background formed the foundation for his fifteen years of experience in the finance industry.
“My dad was a banker in Puerto Rico before starting his own business. I knew banking was a skillset that would transfer to any part of the world,” said Hernandez.
In his free-time, Hernandez admits to being a full blown “soccer dad” cheering on his daughter who is involved in Wichita club soccer. His other children are of the four-legged variety.
“My wife and I’s passion is pitbulls. We have three, two of which are rescues,” said Hernandez. “We actively support Beauties and Beasts locally.”
Hernandez offices out of Union State Bank’s Wichita West branch located at 2327 N. Ridge Road in Wichita, Kansas.
