Expanding Customers Cashless Capabilities with Snappy Pay

Union State Bank’s newest addition to their online and mobile banking products aims to connect customers with fast and secure direct payment functionality. “Snappy Pay” launched late in 2023 as a means to provide customers with the ability to transfer funds to other Union State Bank customers, regardless of the time of day or location.

“We love when customers stop by a branch to get their banking done but we realize that is not always possible when life happens,” said Ryan Valencia, Union State Bank’s VP, Director of Retail Services.

The Snappy Pay project was developed through Union State Bank’s Technology Committee as part of their ongoing efforts to improve the customer experience.

“Snappy Pay aligns with our commitment to offering innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers,” explained Jodie Wall, Senior Vice President and Deposit Operations Manager for Union State Bank. “Snappy Pay benefits our customers by offering greater flexibility and convenience in managing their finances. It facilitates easy and quick transactions with friends, family, and other USB online banking customers, eliminating the need for cash or checks.”

The new Snappy Pay feature is free to any Union State Bank customer. The only requirement is that the user must be enrolled in Union State Bank’s online banking or mobile banking platforms.

“Snappy Pay is another tool in our online toolbox that allows customers to treat the Union State Bank app and website as their very own branch in their pocket,” Valencia said. “They can open an account, make a deposit, transfer money between their own accounts, and now they can transfer money to other USB customer via Snappy Pay.”

Snappy Pay is an extension of Union State Bank’s original mobile product “Snappy the Mobile Teller”. Snappy the Mobile Teller was launched in 2014 and is still used today to provide USB customers with mobile deposit capabilities. The Union State Bank team anticipates Snappy Pay could just be the beginning of new services developed under the “Snappy” family of products name.

“Snappy Pay paves the way for USB to explore and introduce additional innovative online and mobile features in the future. These enhancements will further improve user experience, offering greater convenience and efficiency in managing financial transactions through our digital platforms,” said Wall.
