Union State Bank recently celebrated the retirements of two long-time employees within the Cowley County market. Brenda Butters, Mortgage Loan Officer in Arkansas City, and Ruth Parman, Loan Administrative Assistant in Winfield have concluded their careers.
“As you both step into this exciting new chapter of your lives, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the dedication, hard work, and wisdom you've shared with us over the years,” stated Victoria Hemphill, USB’s Mortgage Processing and Servicing Manager. “Your contributions have made a lasting impact, and your presence will be greatly missed.”
Butters has been with Union State Bank since 2017. Over that timeframe she has held the roles of Assistant to the Chairman Emeritus, Corporate Secretary and Mortgage Lender.
“I have enjoyed the past eight years working with Brenda and appreciate the support and experience she brought to many areas of the organization. She held several critical roles and handled all with professionalism and a positive attitude,” said Brad Bryant, Arkansas City Market President for USB.
Butters retired on December 31st, but continues to actively serve within the community.
“Her presence and contributions will be missed but we know that she will still be working hard as a community builder,” said Bryant. “As Brenda embarks on this new chapter of her life, I have no doubt that she will continue to make a positive impact.”
Butters is currently volunteering with the Cowley County Museum and William Newton Healthcare Foundation Gala Committee. She also serves as a Winfield City Commissioner and Strother Field Commissioner.
“I will miss the relationships I have with co-workers, customers and board members,” said Butters. “I plan to find other organizations that need volunteers and spending time in my yard when spring finally arrives.”
Parman has worked at Union State Bank for the past 18 years as a Loan Administrative Assistant through the Winfield Main branch.
“Since 2007, Ruth has been a leader in her ability to provide exceptional customer service in our market and we will miss her positive and consistent approach to all that she does,” said Cory Helmer, Winfield Market President for USB.
Parman retired on January 31st with a public reception held at the bank.
“I want to thank Ruth for her service and dedication to Union State Bank. We want to wish her the best in her retirement,” said Helmer.
Parman expressed her appreciation for the outpouring of well wishes but has plans for her upcoming free time.
“I will miss my co-workers and customers, but plan to spend more time with my grandchildren,” Parman said. “I am looking forward to redesigning my flower garden and taking a more active role in the Winfield Soroptimist Club.”
